A notice has been issued to a private company in Bharuch district of Gujarat after chaos broke out at the venue of a walk-in-interview organised by it. Around 800 candidates had reached the hotel for the 44 vacancies advertised. The video of the huge queue and jostling of the candidates went viral on social media on Thursday. They can be seen trying to climb the ramp leading to the entrance of the venue in the video.

District Employment Officer Sanjay Gohil said that on July 9, the company had conducted a recruitment drive at a hotel in Ankleshwar in the district. We came to know about the incident after the video went viral. We spoke to the company’s plant manager and HR managers and inspected the plant on July 12. He said that the company had not informed the employment office regarding the vacancies. Whereas to deal with such a situation, the district administration has to be informed in advance.

Candidates were attracted by the package of Rs 12 lakh

Shailendra Somvanshi, employee relations head of Thermax Limited, the company that gave the advertisement, said that applications were issued for 44 jobs. A package of Rs 12 lakh was fixed for this. Attracted by this, more than 970 youth applied. However, a large number of people reached the venue. Due to this, the company employees had difficulty in conducting the interview process smoothly.
